Drawing Attention to Saving Trees

We have been literally drawing attention to saving trees for years. We first started 10 years ago when a forest fire wrecked our community. After the devastation, we were left with lots of burnt trees and acreage. As a community we decided to get together and do something about it. We contacted our local government to see what they were going to do. They informed us that they didn’t have the resources or funds to be able to solve our problem. Pretty much, they were saying it was up to us to come up with a solution.

As a community we gathered together to ask how could we help in rebuilding our forest. Lots of people came up with different ideas of how we could help. We thought about doing local fund raisers. We thought about starting local sales in the neighborhood. We finally decided due to our community and the gifts within our community that we would begin an artist’s group that we draw our way to saving trees. As artist, we thought the best way to raise funds was through creating art through painting and then to sale the art to raise funds.

It worked amazingly well. Over the first few years we raised over $50,000. This was enough to begin to replant the forest in our community. Everyone pitched in to help. We planted over 20,000 trees. It was a great community effort. We are looking forward to seeing what will happen in about 15 years when these are full grown.

After seeing how incredible this has been and the attention it has brought to saving our world, we have decided to partner with a local tree company to help raise greater awareness. We have partnered with Chattanooga Tree Services to bring awareness not only to our larger community but throughout the United States. It has been a slow process, but we are beginning to see fruits of labor as we tell our story to communities who have been effected by forest fires. Local leaders are contacted us to find out ways that we can help them and be a part of saving the trees in their areas. If you have any questions, then please feel free to contact us. We love helping raise awareness to this cause.
